Description
This HyperDoc is designed to be used for background research/discussion before reading To Kill a Mockingbird. It has five sections that can be completed separately, all at once, or with discussion after each one. Set up for a group of 3-5, but can also be completed individually with slight modifications.
Sections include:
1. About the Author - Harper Lee & Her Family
2. Growing Up in the 1930s
3. The Great Depression
4. Jim Crow & Civil Rights
5. The Scottsboro Boys (This section requires the PBS documentary, Scottsboro: An American Tragedy, but can be deleted if that's not something you will watch in class.)
